Ask Amy Ask Amy is a story about an ordinary woman put in extraordinary circumstances. An avid defender of human rights, Amy declined public office post-Apartheid to focus on healing and integrating South Africa through her help column in the local newspapers.

The goal of Ask Amy is to document the soul of a post-Apartheid South Africa by diving into Amy’s letters to ordinary South Africans going through this tumultuous time in history. Many South Africans didn’t know their rights or how to interact with their “new” neighbors. In many ways, the country was still shattered.

Amy's decades-long journey of political and community activism is a testament to the power of one individual's unwavering commitment to justice and equality, regardless of their background.
